If you’re looking for a place to ride that cares more about how much you paid for your riding breeches (you can ride in jeans at NFF!), then we’re not the place for you. But if you’re looking for a place to take riding lessons where you’ll learn to ride a horse with confidence and knowledge, then NFF Stables is your barn!

Our facilities include a huge, lighted indoor riding arena (for lessons year ‘round, rain or shine!), an all-weather footing outdoor riding arena, a jump course, and tons of trails around the farm. Our horses are great lesson horses that are pretty enough to take to horse shows, yet safe enough for all riders.

We believe it is important for the rider to learn horsemanship as well as how to ride a horse — that’s why we have all our students groom and tack up themselves. We stress safety throughout the lessons, and all instruction is supervised by an ARIA-certified instructor.

We also specialize in teaching adults how to ride — if you haven’t ridden in years, or want to learn to ride, our lesson program is perfect for your schedule.

Lesson Prices:

Group Lessons – $210 for a set of six one-hour lessons

Private Lessons – $360 for a set of six one-hour lessons
$260 for a set of six half-hour lessons

Semi-Private Lessons – one hour lessons for two riders at the same level (this option is available if you already have another rider to ride with. Perfect for brother and sisters, parent and child, etc.) – $300 per person, set of six one-hour lessons.

Lesson Levels:

• We offer an optional lesson level program for students to track their progress. Students begin at the green level and work their way to pink, white, yellow, red, and finally blue. Once students have earned a level, they will receive a colored rubber wristband to mark their success

Lesson Information:

• All of our riding lessons are educational, fun, and stress safety for the rider.
• We have convenient day, after-school, evening, and weekend lesson times available
• Lessons include grooming and tacking up time
• All riders must wear an approved ASTM-SEI hard hat. We have plenty of hard hats in a variety of sizes, so don’t go out and buy anything until you’re sure riding is for you.
• Riders must wear long pants, and closed toe shoes (preferably boots, but hiking and snow boots won’t work). Tennis shoes are acceptable.
• We offer practice rides for all students currently enrolled in lessons (beginner riders must have completed a set of six lessons before they are eligible). Practice rides are two hours long: 1/2 hour to groom/tack up, an hour of riding, and a 1/2 hour to cool down, take care of horse, and clean tack/put tack away. Practice rides must be scheduled in advance.
• We offer a program for all current students to work at the barn in exchange for extra riding time. Chores may include sweeping and tack cleaning. For every five hours of supervised work, workers receive one hour of riding time.
